Disability Overhead Expense
Disability Overhead Expense insurance provides reimbursement for operating expenses if you are disabled and cannot work. These expenses may include mortgage payments or rent, electricity, telephone, heat, water, laundry and other typical, fixed costs integral to the operation of your business or practice.
Overhead Expense also pays the salaries of all regular employees (except those who are members of your profession). However, high-quality Overhead Expense will cover at least part of the salary of a professional, temporary replacement retained to fill in for you during your total disability.
Quality Overhead Expense programs also have a "Carry-Over" provision (benefits may carry-over when expenses fluctuate), Residual Disability (pays during a partial disability) and Future Purchase Options (to anticipate the future growth of your business).
